Big Cottonwood Canyon, Utah, USA
1301-4-0854
Water runs continuously down Big Cottonwood Canyon Creek, and during the depths of winter the water freezes in beautiful formations just above the water flow. This view is captured mid-canyon, near Mill B South Fork.
Big Cottonwood Canyon is located within the Wasatch Range, or Wasatch Front as it is locally called. It is situated southeast of Salt Lake City and is a major local attraction year-round. The canyon is 15 miles (24 kim) long, with ample opportunities for "hiking, biking, picnicking, rock-climbing, camping, and fishing. The canyon is also home to two ski resorts, Brighton and Solitude. "The canyon is accessed by The Big Cottonwood Canyon Scenic Byway, which runs its length to Guardsman Pass at the top of the canyon, allowing travel to Park City in the summer months" [source: Wikipedia].
