Description
"Salt Lake Valley" [4x1]
Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

Standing atop Ensign Peak, one experiences amazing feelings of peace, solitude, and awe. Spring is that much more spectacular, with green and yellow trees and grass spawning in all directions, with snow-covered peaks. This view stretches from the east (left) to west (right), nearly 180 degrees. In the left you can see the Wasatch Front, including Twin and Lone Peaks, and on the right are the Oquirrh Mountains. The valley floor ranges from 4,200 feet (1,280 m) up to 4,800 feet (1,463 m). The highest peak on the left is Lone Peak at 11,253 feet (3,430 m), while on the right is Flat Top Mountain at 10,620 feet (3,237 m).
Also pictured is downtown Salt Lake City, with the State Capitol (completed in 1916) and Salt Lake Temple (completed in 1893) prominently in view. The Salt Lake City metropolitan area has over 1,100,000 residents.
