I captured this scene during a fall sunset in a BLM-managed area in Central Utah. Most of the dunes in Utah are covered in tracks from recreational users on motorcycles, four-wheelers, dune buggies, and other four-wheel drive vehicles. If you are fortunate, you can find isolated areas of undisturbed sand with ripples created by the wind that seems to be ceaseless. After the shoot, as I was unpacking my gear, I noticed every cranny of my camera bag had sand in it, including the lens joints and camera body. It was worth it!
